Treat stretch marks and stretch marks with microneedling treatment (Dermaroller or Dermapen)
Removing stretch marks with the dermaroller is a very effective treatment method.
Unfortunately, there are many more people than you think who are affected by stretch marks.
Many of them suffer immensely because most people find stretch marks aesthetically unpleasant.
This suffering can cause those affected to withdraw from public life, such as bathing or sunbathing, out of shame.
Even relationships can suffer because the person affected feels unattractive and therefore avoids showing themselves undressed.
Stretch marks can be treated wellwith a dermaroller or dermapen.
For those who are just starting out on the subject of "removing stretch marks with a dermaroller", we would first like to clarify what a dermaroller actually is and how stretch marks develop.
How does a dermaroller work?
Dermarollers, often also called microneedling rollers or just needling rollers, are cosmetic devices in the form of a roller with a handle, whereby the roller is fitted with tiny needles.

Dermaroller against stretch marks
This needle roller is used to roll over the area of skin to be treated, applying light pressure in various directions.
The small needles pierce small holes in the skin, causing deliberate injury to the skin.
Dermarollers are available with different needle lengths, as different needle lengths are used depending on which area of skin is being treated and which skin problem is present.
Dermarollers are not only used to treat stretch marks, but also for many cosmetic treatments such as wrinkles, large pores, acne scars, pigmentation marks, cellulite or sagging skin.
Application: During treatment, the Derma Rolller is rolled vertically, horizontally and diagonally over the area to be treated without exerting great pressure.
What are stretch marks?

Stretch marks on the stomach
Before you start treating stretch marks with the dermaroller, you should know how and why they occur.
Our connective tissue consists of elastic collagen fibres, among other things.
It can happen that these collagen fibres are overstretched, e.g. due to very rapid growth, weight gain or pregnancy, and eventually no longer withstand the strain and tear.
This results in long, narrow purple or reddish-coloured stripes or lines that are visible on the skin and are often found on the stomach, breasts, hips, thighs and buttocks.
The stripes change colour over time. They fade.

What remains are whitish or pinkish shimmering stripes, the unloved stretch marks of most people. The medical term for stretch marks is striae.

Causes of stretch marks
Women are particularly affected by stretch marks, but men can also get the unsightly striae.
This is simply due to the fact that women can have children.
This is because stretch marks occur particularly frequently during pregnancy due to the strong weight gain and the associated strong stretching of the connective tissue.
Genetically determined, so-called weak connective tissue also frequently leads to stretch cracks and subsequently to stretch marks.
Similarly, very rapid growth, which is not uncommon during puberty, can lead to overstretching of the collagen fibres with the familiar consequences.
Deliberately induced rapid muscle growth through bodybuilding can also lead to stretch marks.
Diseases such as Cushing's syndrome can also be the cause of stretch marks.
What happens to the skin when you remove stretch marks with the Dermaroller?
When you treat stretch marks and stretch marks with the Dermaroller - you can of course also use a Dermapen - this is called a microneedling treatment, which is also known as collagen induction therapy.
This means that new collagen is formed, but why?
By deliberately damaging the skin with the needles, the self-healing powers of our skin are stimulated and this in turn leads to the formation and stimulation of new fibroplasts, which then form more collagen and elastin.
Tiny new blood vessels are also formed so that the skin is optimally supplied and to accelerate wound healing.
The stitch channels are therefore filled with new tissue and the newly formed blood vessels ensure that the previously pale tissue looks natural again.
In addition, the active ingredients of sterile serums are worked directly into the skin via the stitch channels.
This reduces the striking appearance of the stretch marks from treatment to treatment and, ideally, they are virtually invisible afterwards.
However, several treatments are necessary before this happens and as tissue renewal also takes time, it may take a few months before you see the final result.
We recommend the following serums when removing stretch marks with the Dermapen or Dermaroller
As stretch marks are a type of scar, we recommend the scar serum from Utsukusy.
Microneedling serum for stretch marks: Scar Serum from Utsukusy Cosmetics
The English name of this serum is Scars & Skin Marks Cocktail, which could be translated as a cocktail for scars and skin marks.
We recommend the 3.5% hyaluronic serum and the collagen serum as other serums for treating stretch marks.

3.5% Hyaluronic Serum from Utsukusy Cosmetics

Collagen cocktail from Utsukusy Cosmetics
Both serums are from the manufacturer Utsukusy Cosmetics.
If you are still struggling with colour changes, try the depigmentation serum from Utsukusy or the whitening serum from mccosmetics.
As with the treatment of other skin problems, we recommend alternating serums from time to time and not just using one and the same serum all the time.
Mandelic acid peeling as a booster before microneedling
A peeling with mandelic acid is supportive and helpful for the success of the treatment.
You apply this fruit acid peel after cleansing and before microneedling the skin area to be treated.
It is important that you follow the application instructions for the fruit acid peel exactly.
We have two mandelic acid peels in our range for this purpose:
- Mandelic acid peeling set from Utsukusy Cosmetics (pH value: 2.8 - 3.0)
- Mandelic acid peeling from mccosmetics (pH value: 2)
Both peelings are only suitable for professional use by professional users.
Frequently asked questions on the topic: Removing stretch marks with the dermaroller
What needle length is appropriate for treating stretch marks?
Generally, longer needles are used for microneedling treatments on the body than on the face, where the skin is much thinner, especially under the eyes. Nevertheless, there are also sensitive and less sensitive areas on the body.
As the treatment of stretch marks involves scarred tears in the subcutaneous tissue, the depth of the stitches plays a not insignificant role in the success of the treatment.
Our advice is to start carefully with 0.5 mm and then work your way up to a greater stitch depth (maximum 2.5 mm). If it is too painful, simply use an anaesthetic cream from the pharmacy.
How many treatments are necessary to successfully treat stretch marks?
Honestly - no one can answer this question, because stretch marks come in very different intensities and every connective tissue reacts individually to microneedling treatments with a dermaroller.
But one thing is for sure, you need to have some stamina, because one or two treatments won't be enough.
Also, the long-term result is often only visible after several weeks or even months, when the self-healing of the deliberately placed stitch channels is complete.
We advise you to start with a course of at least 6 to 8 treatments at intervals of around 10 days.
Afterwards, you should give your skin some rest and observe the results.
If you are not satisfied, start a second course after 3 months.
How effective is microneedling with a derma roller for stretch marks and stretch marks?
The needling method has proven to be effective in the treatment of stretch marks and stretch marks.
By using fine needles, the skin is stimulated to produce collagen and elastin, which leads to an improvement in the appearance of the skin. Studies have shown that after several sessions, a visible reduction in stretch marks can be seen. However, it is important to note that the success of the treatment depends on various factors, such as age and the depth of the striae.
Microneedling is a minimally invasive method that can be an alternative to more invasive procedures such as laser therapy. When used and cared for correctly, this method can lead to a significant improvement in the appearance of the skin.
However, professional advice should always be sought in order to achieve optimum results.
Which microneedling serums should I use to remove stretch marks?
Stretch marks and stretch marks can be a significant cosmetic problem and can affect self-esteem.
