In dermatology/cosmetics,tranexamic acid (TXA) is primarily associated with mechanisms that attenuate "pigment signals" after UV or inflammatory stimuli (e.g. via the plasmin/plasminogen cascade and communication between keratinocytes and melanocytes). The aim: fewer "triggers" for excessive melanin formation - particularly interesting for melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. 3) Why is niacinamide also included?
