Combat cellulite with microneedling

In the following, we will explain why microneedling is an excellent treatment for cellulite.
Cellulite is a very common phenomenon, especially in women. It is estimated that around 85-98% of all women develop cellulite at some point in their lives. Men can also be affected, but the incidence is significantly lower.
It is important to note that cellulite is a completely normal phenomenon and there is no reason to feel ashamed or uncomfortable about it.
There are many people who have cellulite and are still happy and healthy.
There are also ways to improve the appearance of cellulite. The important thing is to accept yourself and not be pressurised by beauty ideals.
There is no objective reason why you should be ashamed of your cellulite.
Cellulite is a completely normal phenomenon and there are many people who live with it.
However, there is often an ideal of beauty in society that says that smooth and firm skin is attractive.
These ideas are often conveyed in the media and advertising and can make people who have cellulite feel insecure or uncomfortable.
It is important to understand that beauty is very subjective and that there are many different ideals of beauty.
There is no "right" or "wrong" look and every person is as valuable and attractive as he or she is.
It is important to accept yourself and not be pressurised by ideals of beauty.
How does cellulite develop?
Cellulite is a change in the texture of the skin that manifests itself as dents and bumps on the surface of the skin.
It often occurs on the thighs, buttocks and hips and is often referred to as "orange peel skin".
In the course of evolution, our body has developed into a very efficient and sophisticated system.
This has led to our body storing fat in various places as an energy reserve, including subcutaneous fatty tissue.
As women may also have to help care for a baby in the womb, this subcutaneous fatty tissue is generally more pronounced in women than in men.
This is the first reason why women are much more prone to cellulite than men.
But there is another reason.
In women, the collagen fibres in the connective tissue are arranged more parallel, whereas in men these collagen fibres are more interconnected.
The reason for this is that the connective tissue in women has to stretch more easily and better during pregnancy.
The optical reason for orange peel skin is that the subcutaneous fatty tissue is embedded in the connective tissue.
If the connective tissue weakens - the connective tissue becomes weaker and weaker with increasing age - then the connective tissue can no longer embed the subcutaneous fatty tissue firmly enough.
The collagen fibres are pushed to the side, allowing the fat pads to easily push through and thus lead to the typical skin appearance of cellulite.
Water retention can also intensify this skin appearance.
Causes of cellulite
The exact causes of cellulite are not yet fully understood, but it is thought to be due to a combination of factors. These include:
- Hormone imbalances: Hormones such as oestrogen, noradrenaline and insulin can contribute to the accumulation of fat cells.
- Unbalanced diet: An unhealthy diet that is high in fat, sugar and refined carbohydrates can contribute to the accumulation of fat cells.
- Lack of exercise: A lack of exercise can contribute to the accumulation of fat cells.
- Smoking: Smoking can impede blood flow and contribute to fat cells accumulating.
- Alcohol consumption: Excessive alcohol consumption can damage the liver and contribute to the accumulation of fat cells.
It is important to note that cellulite is not related to being overweight or obese. It can also occur in people who are at a healthy weight.
Ultimately, of course, the weakness of the connective tissue is one of the main reasons why the fat pads can push through the skin.
What can you do about cellulite?
There is no way to completely prevent cellulite, but there are some measures you can take to minimise its effects:
- Make sure you eat a healthy and balanced diet
- Exercise regularly to improve circulation
- Control hormone levels
- Avoid excessive alcohol consumption and smoking
- Use body care products that firm and smooth the skin
- Massages - a particularly effective type of massage is the Madero massage, also known as Madero therapy
And there is microneedling
It is important to note that orange peel skin is a completely normal and common phenomenon and that there is no reason to feel ashamed or uncomfortable about it.
There are many people who have cellulite and are still happy and healthy.
Treating cellulite with microneedling
Treating cellulite with microneedling can be very successful as you are not only tackling the symptoms but also the causes, which are not due to a particular lifestyle.
As you probably already know, microneedling works by deliberately damaging the skin with needles in order to mobilise the body's self-healing powers.
At the same time, active ingredients are worked into the skin via the puncture channels created by the needles.
The injuries inflicted on the body initially lead to wound healing.
To do this, our body produces new fibroplasts and stimulates the existing fibroplasts to produce collagen and elastin.
This leads to a strengthening of the connective tissue.
However, as you can see from the previous explanations, there is more to it, namely
1. drainage of accumulated fluids
2. fight against fat deposits
3. strengthening and tightening the connective tissue
Utsukusy Cosmeticshas developed special sterile microneedling serumsfor all three measures.
The treatment should always begin with a drainage phase before the lypolytic phase (fat-dissolving phase), which is followed by the firming phase to tighten and strengthen the connective tissue.
The following sterile serums are used here:
- Sterile Ruscus Body Serum for drainage
- Caffeine body serum for the lypolytic treatment
- L-carnithine body serum for the lypolytic treatment
- Silicon Body Serum for firming and strengthening the connective tissue
These sterile body serums can be applied to the skin not only with needling but also with other cosmetic treatment methods. (electroporation, iontophoresis, ultrasound, cavitation, IR heat treatment, etc.).
In this case, however, you are missing the active principle of microneedling.
Treating cellulite step by step with microneedling
Drainage treatment with microneedling
The first step in microneedling for cellulite is the drainage treatment.
This allows you to get rid of excess water retention.
You use the Ruscus Body Serum from Utsukusy Cosmetics for this.
Ruscus microneedling body serum
Normally, 4 drainage treatments should be enough, but if you have severe water retention, you can increase this to 8 treatments.
The drainage treatment has a draining and decongestant effect.
We recommend that you carry out the drainage treatment before the lipolytic treatment.
For the application itself, you should thoroughly cleanse the area of skin to be treated and possibly perform a body peeling with a body scrub.
Then apply the Ruscus body serum to the skin with gloves and work it into the skinwith a dermapen or dermaroller.
The needle length or stitch depth should be a maximum of 1.5 mm. The aim must also be to prevent bleeding.
After you have worked in the serum and given your skin some rest so that the stitch channels can close, pamper your skin with a body cream such as Mokzai Lipolytic - Anti-Cellulite Cream from Utsukusy Cosmetics.
For the following days, we recommend a short daily massage with the Carboxderm Body Mousse Anti-Cellulite & Hot Effect.
Lipolytic microneedling treatment
The second step is the lipolytic treatment to minimise fat deposits.
For the lipolytic treatment you use the caffeine body serum and/or the L-carnithine body serum.
We also recommend 4 applications for the lipolytic treatment and 8 repetitions for an intensive treatment.
The procedure is similar to the drainage treatment.
First, cleanse the skin area thoroughly and exfoliate.
You then work the serum into the skin. The following also applies here: maximum depth of 1.5 mm and avoid bleeding.
After microneedling, we again recommend using the Mokzai Lipolytic - Anti-Cellulite Cream from Utsukusy Cosmetics and the Carboxderm Body Mousse Anti-Cellulite & Hot Effect on the following days.
Firming treatment
You have actually already undergone several firming treatments, because with every microneedling treatment you ensure firmer connective tissue.
The only difference with the actual firming treatment is that you now use a body serum that has been specially developed to tighten the connective tissue.
The number of treatments and the procedure is the same as already described for the drainage and lipolysis treatment.
Only after the microneedling treatment should you now use the Mokzai Firming Cream and the Carboxderm Body Mousse Firming & Cold Effect from Utsukusy.
For further treatments, we also recommend using the Collagen Serum and the 3.5% Hyaluronic Serum.
Frequently asked questions about microneedling treatments with a dermaroller or dermapen against cellulite
How does a dermaroller help against cellulite?
A dermaroller can be an effective method of combating cellulite. Using the dermaroller stimulates several processes in the skin that help to improve the appearance of the skin.
Here are the three phases of the treatment:
1. drainage treatment
- Promotion of microcirculation: The Dermaroller stimulates microcirculation in the skin, which supports the removal of excess fluids and toxins.
- Reduction of swelling: Improved lymphatic drainage reduces puffiness, resulting in a smoother skin surface.
2. lipolytic treatment
- Fat reduction: The microneedling method stimulates the metabolism in the cells, which promotes the breakdown of fat cells (lipolysis).
- Tightening of the skin: Stimulation by the derma roller supports the natural breakdown of fat deposits under the skin, which reduces the appearance of cellulite.
3. firming treatment
- Collagen production: The Derma Roller promotes the production of collagen and elastin, which are crucial for the firmness and elasticity of the skin.
- Improving skin texture: Increased collagen production makes the skin firmer and smoother, further improving the appearance of cellulite.
How does a dermaroller work?
Microneedling with a roller involves inserting numerous tiny needles into the skin. These micro-wounds stimulate the skin's healing process and promote the production of collagen and elastin. The improved microcirculation and increased cell metabolism help to reduce fat cells and tighten the skin.
Conclusion
The Dermaroller can effectively combat cellulite by stimulating microcirculation, reducing fat cells and promoting collagen production. The three phases of treatment - drainage, lipolysis and tightening - significantly improve the appearance of the skin and reduce cellulite.
What needle length should I use to treat cellulite with microneedling?
To treat cellulite effectively with microneedling, you should use a needle length of 1.5 mm to a maximum of 2.0 mm.
Here are some important points to bear in mind:
- Needle length: Choose a needle length of up to 1.5 mm. This length is sufficient to penetrate deep enough into the skin and stimulate collagen production without going too deep and increasing the risk of bleeding.
- Treatment frequency: Normally 4 treatments are planned in each phase. For more intensive treatments, up to 8 repetitions may be necessary. This depends on the degree of cellulite and individual skin reactions.
- Treatment intervals: Repeat the treatment every 4 to 6 weeks. This gives the skin sufficient time to regenerate and enables effective collagen formation.
- Preparation: Cleanse the skin thoroughly before the treatment and use an antiseptic agent to avoid infections.
- Aftercare: Use soothing and moisturising products after the treatment to care for the skin and support healing.
- Avoid bleeding: Work carefully to avoid bleeding. Too much pressure or incorrect application can lead to unwanted side effects.
By choosing the right needle length and following these tips, you can effectively treat cellulite with microneedling while minimising the risk of complications.
Which needle or needle head is suitable for treatment with a Dermapen?
We recommend the sterile needle head with 12 needlesfor the Dermapen from Utsukusy Cosmetics. This produces the greatest effect during microneedling treatments on the body.
Where does orange peel skin come from?
How does orange peel skin develop?
Cellulite is a change in the texture of the skin that manifests itself as dents and bumps on the surface of the skin. It often occurs on the thighs, buttocks and hips and is often referred to as "orange peel skin".
Development of orange peel skin:
- Adipose tissue: In the course of evolution, the human body has developed an efficient system that stores fat in various places. This subcutaneous fatty tissue is more pronounced in women than in men, as women also have to care for a baby in the womb.
- Connective tissue: In women, the collagen fibres in the connective tissue are arranged in parallel, whereas in men they are more interconnected. This connective tissue must be able to stretch more easily in women during pregnancy.
- Ageing: With increasing age, the connective tissue weakens, which means that it can no longer embed the subcutaneous fatty tissue firmly enough. This allows the fat cells to push through the skin and create the typical orange peel skin.
- Water retention: This can further intensify the appearance of cellulite.
Causes of orange peel skin:
The exact causes of orange peel skin are not yet fully understood, but they appear to be triggered by a combination of factors:
- Hormone imbalances: Hormones such as oestrogen, noradrenaline and insulin can promote the accumulation of fat cells.
- Unbalanced diet: A diet high in fat, sugar and refined carbohydrates can favour fat cell accumulation.
- Lack of exercise: Lack of exercise can also promote fat accumulation.
- Smoking: Smoking can impair blood circulation and encourage the accumulation of fat cells.
- Alcohol consumption: Excessive alcohol consumption can damage the liver and contribute to fat accumulation.
Important notes:
- Not weight dependent: Orange peel skin can also occur in people of a healthy weight.
- Weak connective tissue: The main cause of orange peel skin is the weakening of the connective tissue, which allows fat cells to push through the skin. These factors contribute to the formation of the typical skin dimples known as orange peel skin. It is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle in order to minimise the risk.
